Anyone hoping for a good sequel to “Cabin Fever”, shouldn’t even bother watching this movie. This movie is an absolute waste of time. It goes wrong right from the start by giving first billing to Rider Strong, he doesn’t last more than 1 minute in the films opening scene. The film then relies on an opening animation scene as the only explanation of the plot. There is no time spent actually introducing the cast of characters, nor trying to make them likable at all.
“Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever” takes off right after the first film with Paul (Rider Strong) lying in a river and the virus running through the water. The water is shown leading to a local water bottle distributor. The focus shifts to a high school that is having it’s prom and (shocker) they use the water and chaos breaks out.
The first film directed by Eli Roth, love it or hate it, was a well done and clever horror movie. Ti West, director of the sequel was so embarrassed by this film that he tried, and failed to remove his name from it. Ti West is also the director of last years “House of the Devil”, it is a must see for all horror fans. If anyone is looking for a movie to watch avoid this like the plague and rent West’s “House of the Devil”.
