According to Superhero Hype, it is reporting that John Krasinski, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Fluger, Scott Porter, Mike Vogel and Chace Crawford are contenders for “The First Avenger: Captain America”.
In case you are unfamiliar with these contenders, John Krasinski (TV’s “The Office”), Michael Cassidy (appeared in “Smallville” and also tested for Superman Returns), Patrick Fluger (“Brothers”), Scott Porter (TV’s “Friday Night Lights”) and Mike Vogel (“Cloverfield”)
This does not necessarily mean that one of the actors will get the role of “Captain America”, it took the Marvel several tests before they found Chris Hemsworth for “Thor”.
Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III) will direct the film, which Paramount Pictures will distribute on July 22, 2011.
