This year the Razzies is celebrating 30 Years of celebrating the worst movies of the year. This year the nominations are flooded with box office hits, remakes, and sequels.
As voting members of the Razzies, Movie Mikes decided that it is just as important to report the worst as it is the best.
Worst Picture of 2009

Easily the “worst” picture of the year is the uber-hated explosion fest sequel to “Transformers”, Trannies Too! (as the Razzies refer to “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen”), although I must say I did actually enjoy this giant mess of a movie. It will definitely take home the gold. “Land of the Lost” is a close second for the win. For a movie with Will Farrell and Danny McBride, two of the funniest actors, they made one unfunny and unwatchable movie. At least “Transformers” had explosions.

Although I do have much hate for the Jonas Brothers, this award I would say will be going to Eddie Murphy. After co-starring in “Dreamgirls” you thought that he was going to have a comeback being that he was nominated for various awards. What does he follow it up with? “Norbit”, “Meet Dave” and “Imagine That”, not your typical Oscar follow-ups.

As I was reading through the nominees, I thought this would be a hard decision, then I got to Megan Fox. Enough said.

I am sure everyone who read these nominees jumped to say that Robert Pattinson is the winner, I disagree. I have to say that I liked G.I. Joe, as bad as it was. I’ve been a fan of the TV show forever and Marlon Wayans made the film practically impossible to watch. But I am going to have to give this award to the Mullet-Wearing-Hillbilly-Dad of Hannah Montana himself, Billy Ray.

If I had to choose this award based on talent that is going to waste, the answer is easy, Sienna Miller. She’s shown her acting capability in “Layer Cake” and “Factory Girl”, but acting in a useless role in “G.I Joe” was a waste of her talent.

It is kind of sad, that the same actress can be nominated for the best and worst acting awards all in the same year. Sandra Bullock & Bradley Cooper in “All About Steve” will be the winning couple in this category, hands down.

This one will also go to “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen,” for being the worst sequel of 2009. I can see this movie being nominated for the worst of the decade in a few years. It is just funny that although it is considered the worst of the year, it can still gross well over $400M, come on people!!

Michael Bay takes this category no contest. Although Michael Bay hasn’t directed that many films, he is definitely known for focusing less on plot and just blowing up everything in sight. Hands down, the winner of worst director of the year.

“G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” is going to take home this award. The movie had been in development for years and I think I could have written a better script in my sleep. “Transformers” is a close second since the film is basically explosions and slow motion scenes of Megan Fox. This film isn’t one that really was expected to have a complete screenplay.

“Gigli” is still one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Having to sit through it ever again would be worse than getting route canal. That is enough to warrant the worst picture of the decade. Although “Battlefield Earth” may be considered the worst, it is at least possible to watch and have a good laugh.

Mike Myers is my choice for this category. Unless he is behind make-up, a mask or CGI, Myers really seemed to lose any genius that he ever had during his SNL or “Waynes World” days.

This category is filled with all actresses who are also singers. Mariah Carey, Madonna & Jennifer Lopez all have their singing career to back them up when their acting fails (and it does). Lindsay Lohan doesn’t seem to be doing anything besides getting ready for an early retirement. Paris Hilton is the likely winner of this award. With her recent role in “Repo! The Genetic Opera”, she single handedly ruined a great film and that alone is enough to be crowned the worst of the worst.
