The Weinstein Company announced today that, the new film “Cheech and Chong’s Hey Watch This” will be released in theaters nationwide, on April 20 (duh). This will mark the return of the famous pot smoking duo and their first comedy film together since 1985′s “After Hours”.
Surprisingly, The film will also be released on DVD, Blu-ray, video-on-demand (VOD) and digital download as well on that same date. This is a very usual release pattern for a movie but since its 4/20, I am sure the studio wanted to capitalize on the date.
“Cheech and Chong’s Hey Watch This” is is a feature film showcasing the duo’s hugely successful reunion tour, Cheech & Chong: Light Up America, where they performed together for the first time in over 25 years. The tour was one of the most successful tours of 2008-2009.
