Eric Idle, author and producer of the hit Broadway musical “Spamalot”, said he would be up for adapting the show from the stage to the screen.
The problem with making “Spamalot” into a movie is to avoid making a remake of ” Monty Python and The Holy Grail”
The Tony Award winning musical is currently playing on Broadway, in London’s West End, in Las Vegas, and on tour throughout North America.
Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail, “Spamalot” features A Chorus Line of dancing divas and knights, flatulent Frenchmen, a killer rabbit and one legless knight.
If the movie was to made, I would love to see the original cast back, Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce and Hank Azaria. Let’s just hope we don’t have another “The Producers” movie adaption that was based on a play remake of a movie.
