The process of finding a director for the sequel “Paranormal Activity 2″ is finally complete. After directors ranging from the great (Brian DePalma) to the schlocky (“Saw VI” helmer Kevin Greutert) to the untried (“A Beautiful Mind” screenwriter Akiva Goldsman), little known Kip Williams has been chosen to direct “Paranormal 2.”
Williams has only two directing credits to his name, 1998′s “The Adventures of Sebastian Cole” starring Adrian Grenier, and 2004′s “The Door in the Floor”, both relatively unknown films.
Coming Soon has the official statement from Oren Peli, who is producing the sequel to his massively successful film: “We are thrilled to have Kip working with us. He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans… and I can’t wait to be a part of what he’s putting together. I don’t want to spoil the story but I promise it’ll surprise you.”
I don’t know….I think this will suck like “Blair Witch 2.” Some sequels are unnecessary.
