Neil Patrick Harris has signed on to star in The Smurfs. Not as a Smurf, but as a person.
Harris isn’t going to play Gargamel, he will play a modern day New York City dad who meets the Smurfs in Central Park. It seems the movie will be a mix between Stuart Little & Alvin & The Chipmunks, only with little blue things running around NYC. This make me a bit nervous.
This is the first Sony Pictures Animation film to include live action. The film is being released on July 29, 2011.
