Deadline.com is reporting that Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will transform Green Day’s 2004 album American Idiot from a broadway musical to a movie.
The album tells the story of three friends who grow up in the same town. One moves to the city, the other joins the army and the third stays in the small town after his girlfriend gets pregnant.
Interesting choice seeing as Hanks’s last directing gig was an episode of 2001′s Band of Brothers (which was awesome).
