Alright guys, just because it is a Robert Pattinson movie doesn’t mean it is only for the ladies. “Remember Me” has an excellent supporting cast to support a very emotional film. The film starts off slow but really digs deep to explain its characters, what they are dealing with and the film makes you really care about who you are watching. Having seen both “Twilight” films to date and enjoyed them to an extent, I have to say that if you look past the fact that Pattinson is from the male dreaded “Twilight”, this film is really powerful and the whole cast gives amazing performances. “Remember Me” is a really deep story that takes it time to tell its story but once it gets you locked in it has you and delivers quite a surprising ending that will leave you shocked!
Emilie de Ravin from “Lost” plays Robert Pattinson’s love interest, Ally, who experienced her mother’s death in front of her at the age of 11. Robert Pattinson plays Tyler Hawkins, a reckless 21 year old who is dealing with the suicide of his brother. Tyler meets Ally and everything seems to make sense and eventually they fall in love. Chris Cooper plays Ally’s over-protective father who is a detective and has a prior run in with Tyler due to his reckless behavior. Pierce Brosnan plays Pattinson’s father who is a high powered attorney that would rather be at the office than spending time with his family. The whole cast really contributes to a really emotional story that ties them together and really catches you off guard by the end of the film.
The drama-heavy story has deep aspects of family loss from both stars and really focuses on how each person deals with the loss. I would recommend it to anyone that is willing to give it a chance, especially “Twilight” fans.
