So…if you do not follow “The Guild”, you need to stop reading this and immediately go to YouTube and watch Seasons 1-3. Each season runs 12 episodes each and about 3-9 minutes each. This show is one of the best webisodes on the web. Season four has in fact been my favorite season as well. Since season three when the show brought on Wil Wheaton it was just so amazing. He adds so much to the show and his anti-Guild, Axis of Anarchy. This season the show follows the Guild as they try and raise money to purchase a Guild Hall in the game. We also see the relationship explored with Codex (Day) and Fawkes (Wheaton) and even Vox (Lewis) and Zaboo’s mom (ekkk). All and all, this was a really fun season! Can’t wait for season 5, which just started production!! Oh yeah!
Felicia Day is just such a talent actress and such a pleasure to watch in everything she is in. I am a huge fan of “Dr. Horrible Sing-a-Long Blog”, which Joss Whedon has said is inspired by this show. Runner up in this season is Jeff Lewis, he steals every single scene he is in, just so funny! Amy Okuda and Robin Thorsen are a great pair in this season as they become business partners. Vincent Caso is still working at Cheesybeards and gets a few good lines. Last but definitely not least, Sandeep Parikh… this is probably the best season for him.
This DVD does not only come with one commentary but two commentaries. The first is from the cast which is just simply amazing, we also have one from the creator, director and producer. Season 1-3 recaps are great for those who need a quick refresh. The music video for my new favorite song “Game On” is a so great, along the with making of it. The making of is really interesting and totally worth checking out. There are two featurettes, the first called Avinashi Returns and the second called Cheesybeards. The Cheesybeards commercial is really funny to watch in full. I watched it over and over again and it is just so gross and so bad that is just so good! The table read of episode one is really cool to see them preparing for the show. The gag reel is really funny and one of my favorite features. The last special feature is the downloadable PDF script which is really cool feature.
