ReedPop Shares Schedule for 2021 Events

To our community—

As I write this, I’m filled with hope and excitement for the year ahead. There’s much in the works at ReedPop that we’ll announce in the coming months, but today I’m bringing you an update on the return of our physical events and the first look at our plans to promote health and safety.

To give you a peek behind the curtain, events folks have to plan six to nine months down the road. We must put ourselves forward from where we are today into where we think we may be tomorrow, and continue making the next best decisions.

Today, I share what we’re planning with this assurance: ReedPop’s number one priority is the wellbeing of the people that come to our shows.

Right now, we see a path forward for safe, amazing events that are going to look a bit different than usual, so that’s where we’re heading. Keep in mind what we communicate is subject to change as state and local guidelines are adjusted. I encourage you to stay connected with us via our newsletters, social channels, and websites to keep on top of the latest information right up to the shows.

ICYMI, our schedule for 2021 is:

With the return of physical events comes so much we were missing this past year. Supporting small businesses and indie creators more directly, old friends reconnecting, the energy of a panel room when a cast first takes the stage…

I can’t even believe I’m saying this, but I almost miss the awkward camaraderie of the women’s restroom line. Almost

Speaking of lines, let’s talk capacity and a few other key safety measures we’ll be taking…

  1. We will be running all our shows with reduced capacity. With our new safety precautions in place, attendance and badges will be very limited so that we can ensure physical distancing. We’re working closely with each convention center to determine how many people are permitted in the building every day and at a given time.
  1.  We are requiring approved face coverings for all individuals attending our events, including our exhibitors and staff. They must be worn at all times within our venues. For more information, you can visit the FAQ pages on each of our show websites.
  1. Temperature screening upon entry will be required to enter our eventsAnyone with an elevated temperature will not be permitted to enter the event.
  1. We will have increased sanitization and cleaning with enforced physical distancing throughout the event.
  1. We have also adopted a firm no handshakes, no high-fives, no hugs policy. We’re all going to have to get very smooth and cool-looking at either the elbow bump or air high-fives. Please start practicing now.

I know there are a lot more questions than what I’ve shared here. You’re probably wondering what the heck a photo op may look like and how panel seating will work. We’ll be sharing more information in the months leading up to our shows, and we are committed to being as transparent as possible.

Our goal remains the same: bring together our fan communities to celebrate the best pop culture has to offer. Alongside all of our physical events, we’ll be running a virtual event companion through FindtheMetaverse.com. So whether or not you join us in person, you can attend each of our shows and have a pretty excellent time. Save the date for the next Metaverse event — June 7-13 — and follow our newly launched social media pages on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.

More announcements are coming soon with on-sale dates, guests, panels, and so much more. We promise it will be worth the wait.

Finally, thank you for your continued support in what has been a difficult time for our entire community. Thank you for your patience with us at every turn, and for your understanding as we continue to navigate the future of pop culture events together.

Higher, further, faster,

Kristina Rogers (she/her)

LAMB OF GOD propelled heavy metal into the new millennium two decades ago with the prophetically titled New American Gospel. They followed with 2003’s As the Palaces Burn, which made the Rolling Stone list of the Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake (2004) was the first LAMB OF GOD album to be certified gold by the RIAA, followed by Sacrament (2006), which debuted in Billboard’s Top 10. Wrath (2009) earned the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Rock, and Tastemaker charts and was No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Those No. 1 positions were repeated with Resolution (2012). VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) debuted at No. 3 in North America and in the Top 5 in several countries. The single “512” from VII: Sturm und Drang received a Grammy nod for the “Best Metal Performance,” making it LAMB OF GOD’s fifth Grammy nomination.

A true collaboration between all members of the band, LAMB OF GOD’s eighth studio album is an amalgam of each individual’s contributions, blended to create a singular style. Guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler fuel the album with a mountain of riffs, taking what Lamb of God are known for, and unbelievably, upping the ante to new levels. The rhythm section of John Campbell, looming large as a rhythmic shadow, and drummer Art Cruz, who makes his studio debut with LAMB OF GOD here on this record, underpin the proceedings with passion, sweat and expansive dynamics. Vocalist D. Randall Blythe is as angry, insightful, and informed as ever. Never one to shrink from facing the darker aspects of our nature head-on, Blythe delivers with no punches pulled, and as only he and Lamb of God can in 2020.

LAMB OF GOD‘s co-headline tour with Megadeth plus special guests Trivium and In Flames has been postponed to 2021. For new dates and tickets visit: http://metaltouroftheyear.com

LAMB OF GOD Announces Online Events Following Release of New Self-Titled Album

First Album in Five Years, Lamb Of God, Out Now

Following the Friday release of their new self-titled album, LAMB OF GOD is connecting with fans through daily online activities today through Thursday, beginning with a “live quarantine video” today at 12 noon EDT/9 a.m. PDT on YouTube.

The video will feature three songs recorded by the band live from quarantine. Tune in to watch at https://lamb-of-god.lnk.to/QuarantineSessionVideo.

Later today, guitarist Willie Adler will join Zia Records for a Facebook Live Q&A. Visit https://facebook.com/events/609025426405589/ at 7 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT to watch.

An Instagram Live and Reddit AMA with vocalist Randy Blythe are planned for later in the week.

Stay tuned for more activity announcements and details!

In addition to the release of the album, on Friday LAMB OF GOD premiered a video for Lamb Of God’s fourth single, “Gears,” and lyric videos for five of the album’s tracks. Watch the lyric videos at https://lambofgod.lnk.to/LOG/youtube. The highly anticipated album from metal’s reigning kings immediately made waves with press radio and sales, debuting at number one on Overall, Rock and Metal iTunes charts, and number one on Spotify’s Kickass Metal playlist.

The fact that the band’s eighth studio effort would warrant ‘self-titled’ status is a testament to the band’s pride and satisfaction with these songs and this period in their creativity.

Vocalist D. Randall Blythe is as angry, insightful, and informed as ever. Never one to shrink from facing the darker aspects of our nature head-on, Blythe delivers with no punches pulled, and as only he and Lamb of God can in 2020.

Audiences got a taste of the first new LAMB OF GOD music in nearly five years with “Checkmate” back in February, followed by “Memento Mori” and the most recent single, “New Colossal Hate.” All four songs will appear on Lamb Of God, the follow-up to VII: Sturm und Drang (2015). The album was once again produced by collaborator Josh Wilbur (GojiraKornMegadethTrivium), fueled by a mountain of riffs and looming rhythmic shadows. It is also the band’s first record with Cruz, who sat behind the kit with LAMB OF GOD in 2018 and became an official member the following year. In addition to Chuck Billy, the new album features a guest appearance from Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed). Blythe sounds more driven and insightful than ever on Lamb Of God, offering up the angriest and most comprehensive diatribes, addressing modern life in the current landscape, of his storied career thus far.

Safety Tips for Crowded Events

Big social events like concerts, sports games, conventions, and festivals are a great time and offer an opportunity to explore and appreciate something new.

As exciting as large events are, they come with inherent risk in the form of large crowds. When many people attend a single event, it makes them crowded and the sheer volume of other people can cause confusion and be overwhelming.

Making matters worse, large events attract criminals because they provide the perfect cover to take advantage of unsuspecting event-goers. With this in mind, understanding how to keep yourself safe in a large crowd is crucial for making the most of the experience.

Let’s take a look at a few essential safety tips for crowded events.

Dress Wisely

A great starting point is to dress wisely.

While dressing smartly is all about impressing, wisely dressing focuses on wearing clothing well-suited for your environment. Layering up on a cold day is a great example of dressing wisely.

With crowded events, there are two main clothing factors to consider. This includes how easily it can be grabbed and how hot it will make you.

For just about any event, overly baggy clothing is heavily discouraged. It can easily be grabbed by a thief or unintentionally pulled during a panic.

At the same time, avoid extremely tight clothing as this can make you overheat. Look for a balance between the two to keep you comfortable and safe.

The exact clothes that work best will depend on the event you’re going to. Think about if you’ll be indoors or outdoors, if you’ll be moving frequently, and how long you’ll be there. Use this information to make wise clothing choices that make the event more enjoyable.

Scout the Venue

You should also scout the venue as you walk into it.

Anytime you’re entering a new location, you’re unfamiliar with it. This unfamiliarity means that you won’t know what poses a risk to you and where you should go during an emergency.

A few things you should look for include the bathrooms, the exits, and access to water. Needing any of these and not knowing where they are can quickly become overwhelming when stuck in a crowd.

You want to know where everything is because this allows you to prepare and react quicker to a situation. Say that you suddenly feel ill, the last thing you’ll want to do is spend 20 minutes looking for the bathroom and then waiting in line.

Do yourself a big favor and take just a few minutes to figure out where everything is. It can save you a world of hassle and will make leaving much simpler after the event.

Create an Exit Plan

When you understand the venue’s layout, you can also create an exit plan.

Simply knowing where the exits are won’t do you any good if you don’t use that information to your advantage. If something like a fire alarm was to go off, the crowd would likely panic and you might not know which exit to head to amidst the pandemonium.

An exit plan will ensure that you can calmly leave the situation without harm. This is particularly important if you’re attending an event with family and children.

Should you and your kids get separated, you need to have a plan for reconvening afterward. An exit plan is perfect for this because you should all end up in the same place.

Create a plan and communicate it to the people you’re with. This will keep everyone on the same page and will come in handy should an emergency happen.

Remain Aware

While you’re enjoying the event, you should make a point to remain aware of your surroundings.

Not all injuries or crimes are avoidable, but many of them are if you are always watching what’s going on around you. Unfortunately, it’s easy to get lost in enjoying the event you’re attending. This is what creates the perfect scenario for an injury or crime to go undetected.

For example, you might be enjoying a concert and fail to notice a pickpocket grab your wallet. While you should certainly immerse yourself in the experience, you must not let your guard down.

Many events finish without a problem, but it’s when you aren’t prepared that you’re impacted the most. You may get a false sense of security and this is all it takes to become a victim of theft.

Watch the people around you and try to have a pulse on the situation at all times.

Trust Your Instincts

A final tip is to trust your instincts and leave any situation that makes you uncomfortable.

As you stay aware of the area around you, you can usually detect a vibe. The people around you may be tense or angry and this isn’t where you want to be.

This usually comes down to how people are behaving. If something gives you a bad feeling or looks unsafe, it probably is and gives a good reason to steer clear.

Say that you’re at a concert and notice a group beginning a mosh pit right next to you. If you don’t pick up on this and quickly move away, you can get caught up in it and sustain serious injuries.

Your intuition is intelligent and you should listen to it. Safety is always paramount at any outing and something that’s giving you a weird feeling usually means that your safety is at question.

Closing Thoughts

Before attending your next event with a large crowd, consider if you’re focusing on safety enough. Chances are, you likely aren’t and this can easily be fixed.

Event safety is important because large crowds can lead to injuries and becoming a victim of a crime if you aren’t prepared. A few tips to prepare yourself include dressing wisely, scouting the venue, creating an exit plan, remaining aware, and trusting your instincts.

While safety is certainly important, don’t overthink it to the point of not enjoying your event. Just remember to take a few quick precautions and you’ll be ready for whatever comes your way!

NCM® Fathom Events, More2Screen and EuroArts Music bring the magic of Tchaikovsky’s beloved holiday ballet, “The Nutcracker,” to life on the big screen for the first time in stunning 3-D in select theaters with RealD™ 3D technology. “The Nutcracker Mariinsky Ballet” on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m., with special matinee screenings in select theaters, was pre-recorded at the historic Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in December 2011 where the original Nutcracker first made its debut 120 years ago in 1892. This special cinematic holiday event will draw audiences into the performance on stage, taking them on a magical journey with Clara, her Nutcracker, exquisite dancers and toy soldiers.

“The Nutcracker Mariinsky Ballet” tickets are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. For a complete list of theater locations and prices, visit the NCM Fathom website (theaters and participants are subject to change). This special holiday presentation will be broadcast to more than 500 select movie theaters through NCM’s exclusiveDigital Broadcast Network and also via the new digital cinema projection systems.

The ballet opens with a Christmas Eve party and a young girl, Clara, being given a nutcracker doll by her godfather, Drosselmeyer. Later in the evening when Clara sleeps, she finds herself in the midst of the Nutcracker’s battle against the Mouse King and his army of mice. Coming to Clara’s aid, the Nutcracker is transformed into a Prince and journeys with her to an enchanted island where spectacular celebrations are held in their honor.

This production showcases the impeccable virtuosity of two of the Mariinsky Theatre’s rising stars – Alina Somova as Clara(Masha in the original Russian ballet) and Vladimir Shklyarov as the Nutcracker. EuroArts Music International filmed “The Nutcracker” in 3-D for this cinematic event.

Under the leadership of General and Artistic Director and renowned conductor, Valery Gergiev, the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg, Russia was the first ballet company to embrace 3-D technology with the theatrical release of “Giselle in 3D” in 2011, distributed worldwide by More2Screen, and NCM Fathom Events in the U.S.

“The Mariinsky Theatre is one of the world’s leading opera and ballet companies with a far–reaching global profile,” said Gergiev. “Through ground–breaking projects like ‘The Nutcracker in 3-D,’ produced to the same exacting standards for the big screen as for the stage, we are able to share our beautiful productions with many more people worldwide.”

The Mariinsky Theatre was the original home to Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” in 1892, when it made its worldwide debut, and this brand-new version in both 2-D and 3-D marks the 120th anniversary year of the ballet.

“Attending ‘The Nutcracker’ ballet each year is a long-standing holiday tradition for many families across the world,” said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of NCM Fathom Events. “With Tchaikovsky’s eternally popular score, the grand staging and exquisite costumes, this Mariinsky Theatre production of ‘The Nutcracker’ in movie theaters will be a unique way to experience this beloved classic.”

Ashley Eckstein Reveals Special Events and Exclusive Her Universe Merchandise for Star Wars Celebration VI

NEW YORK, NY – August 14, 2012 – The largest gathering of Star Wars fans, Star Wars Celebration VI, is about to take place again in Orlando, Florida August 23rd through the 26th and Ashley Eckstein announced today that she and her fangirl apparel company, Her Universe™, will be there in a big way with a special event, a panel and exclusive merchandise.

• After receiving hundreds of requests from female fans all over the country to be a Her Universe model, Eckstein (the voice of Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars: The Clone Wars) is offering a free Her Universe photo shoot on Saturday, the 25th from 10am till 7pm in room W305A. Girls are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Her Universe top or hoodie to be photographed by professional photographer Preston Mack (www.pmack.com). Her Universe shirts will be provided just for the photo shoot if girls do not have one on that day. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside of room W305A that morning for those wishing to reserve a time slot and it will be first come, first served. The completed photos will be posted to a special photo board following the event on Facebook so girls can tag, share and download their photos. “Her Universe is a brand for the fans, and when the fans overwhelmingly tell me what they want, I do my best to make it happen,” said Ashley Eckstein. “It’s important to me that I am not the only Her Universe model because fangirls come in all ages, shapes and sizes and I want to represent the entire fangirl community by using real fans as my models. I am also so excited to have Preston Mack! He is such an accomplished photographer and I am honored that he will be sharing his time and talents with us!”

• In addition, Eckstein will be hosting a very special panel with author Carrie Goldman based on her new book, Bullied – What Every Parent, Teacher, and Kid Needs to Know About Ending the Cycle of Fear. Carrie is the mother of Katie Goldman, the little girl who was bullied for carrying a Star Wars water bottle to school. Carrie has spent the past year and a half researching and writing about this topic and Ashley encourages fans to come and join the conversation. The panel will take place on Thursday, the 23rd from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM in room W311 ABCD.

• Celebration would not be complete without exclusive Star Wars merchandise and Eckstein divulged that Her Universe will have two exclusives that fans have been asking for at the Her Universe booth #915. One of the most popular characters from the Star Warsexpanded universe, Mara Jade, will be featured on a stunning new V-neck shirt with original art by renowned artist, Cat Staggs. Only 300 of these shirts will be available at CVI. “This is a shirt I was very excited to do,” said Cat Staggs. “I love Mara and wanted to depict her as both beautiful and powerful. She, like Leia, is such a fantastic character that while charming your socks off she can also take you down… I hope fans enjoy the shirt just as much as I did creating it.” Second, to accent the Mara Jade V-neck shirt, fans will have one more chance to pick up the exclusive R2-D2 3D Sterling Silver plated charm to add to the existing Star Wars by Her Universe charm bracelet. Standing 3/4” in height, there will be only 300 of these adorable little droid charms available at the convention. However, Eckstein recognizes that not all fans have the opportunity to join the fun and travel to Celebration VI, so she is making available a limited number (50 of each) of the two exclusive CVI items on www.heruniverse.com. The exclusives will be available starting at 10 AM EST on August 23rd. First come, first served. In addition to these exclusives, fans can buy Her Universe merchandise at booth #915 for female fans of all ages, including babies and plus sizes. Ashley will also debut two new tank top designs where fangirls can show their allegiance to the Republic or make a statement that they prefer the dark side.
