“Delhi Safari” is the latest CG animated film, which originated as a foreign film and retooled with an American cast. This film originated from India and still keeps its Bollywood feel. It is filled with music and songs throughout. It does have a great American cast including Vanessa Williams, Cary Elwes, Brad Garrett, Jane Lynch, Christopher Lloyd and Jason Alexander. The movie is decent not amazing but I am also a sucker for music and animation.  I think that kids would enjoy it. They probably won’t get the message but still be entertained.

A wacky pack of mismatched animals takes on the human race as they travel to the big city to protest the destruction of their jungle. How can a leopard cub and his mother, a peace-loving bear, a mischievous monkey, and a wisecracking parrot present their ideas to a bunch of humans? You ll find out in this hilarious and heart-warming adventure that will have you cheering at the end.

This film is currently released as a Wal-Mart Exclusive. I believe that in June it will be released everywhere else. This is released as a combo back with a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy.  The 1080p transfer looks nice but this is another example of Arc Entertainment refusing to release these films in there proper 3D format.  This film would have had a lot of extra “Wow” if it was shown in 3D.  The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 works perfectly with the music and of course the songs.  There is no additional special features included on the release.

All aboard! The gang of Chuggington is at it again and taking preschoolers from coast-to-coast in their latest release “Safari Adventures”.  My eight month old daughter really digs this show, especially the theme song.  I love that fact that it is filled with valuable life lessons for her to enjoy as she grows up. This all-new compilation is being released just in time for Valentine’s Day! It comes in two different versions: the standard DVD and also a limited edition release that features a collectible Mtambo toy engine from TOMYTM.  If you are a fan of this show then this release is a no-brainer for sure! CHUGGINGTON!!

Official Premise: Honk Your Horns For The Ultimate Safari Adventure! In these six episodes — plus a bonus Badge Quest episode — Koko helps out a pack of playful squirrels, Brewster investigates banana thieves at the Safari Park, and Wilson hauls a mischievous elephant to its new home. There’s monkey business with Zephie, a royal visitor for Mtambo and jungle camouflage, too. With good friends and helpful adults like Puffer Pete, Eddie and Dunbar, your own little trainees will learn all about problem solving, working together and being patient with the animals, in this collection of fun-filled Safari adventures.

The special features are decent and fun for the kiddies. There is a bonus Badge Quest episode titled “Animal Helper”.  There are also two featurettes called “The Chugger Spotlight”, one called Koko and the other Mtambo (aka the toy car that comes with the DVD). Both very cute. Lastly there are various coloring and activity sheets to print for kids via the your DVD-ROM drive. Props have to go to Disney though cause without them I wouldn’t have found out about this show. The air it weekdays on Disney Channel’s Disney Junior programming block but more importantly daily on their new 24-hour Disney Junior cable.  The series is currently in its third season and I hope to see much more of these DVD’s released in the future.

3D Blu-ray Review “3D Safari: Africa”

Starring: Hunter Ellis
MPAA Rating: Not Rated
Distributed by: Level 33 Entertainment
Release Date: September 20, 2011
Running Time: 90 minutes

Film: 3.5 out of 5 stars
Extras: 1 out of 5 stars

“3D Safari: Africa” really takes you deep into the safari and makes you not want to leave. The film is visually amazing and allows us as viewers to experience the beautiful and exotic Africa in 3D. I really enjoyed that the film was hosted by Emmy award winning, Hunter Ellis. I am not sure what it is but I just love watching films about animals and beautiful landscapes. I always find that with these types of adventure documentaries that I always learn something as well. So sit back and get ready to enjoy a very entertaining 90-minute journey.

“3D Safari: Africa” has got it all from hot air balloon rides to a wildebeest stampede to a zebra up again a crocodile to a mother cheetah searching for her lost cub. The film has emotion and is action packed. Who doesn’t love to watch animals up-close-and-personal in 3D, including lions, leopards, hippos, hyenas, zebras, giraffes and many more.

I have seen many 3D Blu-rays. This one looks sharp in 3D but its overall video quality is decent. The audio is enjoyable though boasting a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track. If you are looking for extras on this disc, you might also be disappointed. There is only one short extra included, a short 3D film called “Living Large: Hippos and Rhinos”.
